About the farm

Oakridge natural farm is a  market garden farm, and this is our first year growing vegetables following organic growing methods. After years of growing food in the backyard following organic practices, we expand our operations to a small 1.5-acre market garden following sustainable growing practices.

A couple of individuals grew up in farming families and left farming to pursue information technology careers later. Here we are back again after 20 years, finding our roots growing food.

The farm is about 15-20 minutes drive from Oakridge/Summerfield, NC, and 10 Minute drive from Madison/Mayodon NC

What and How we grow:

We grow a variety of Leafy veggies and Indian/Asian vegetables using organic / open-pollinated seed varieties. It is our first year in the organic certification process, and we use organic compost, OMRI certified Organic soil amendments. We want to provide freshly grown/harvested vegetables to the community respecting the labor and the farmers. We never use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides in our growing practices. Also, we tested for persistent pesticides, such as DDT and Dieldrin, and Dieldrin, Chlorpyrifos,and Cypermethrin the tests came back clean
